Picasso's Guernica

Hi this is my first ever entry and I have chosen something very special.
I have always been inspired by the work of Picasso but when I saw Guernica in Madrid last year it was amazing.
I made this by cutting the felt into appropriate size and shape, stitching the shapes onto black felt and then embroidering the details. Working on this has taken about a month and I have enjoyed every second, although I actually cried when I stitched the image of a mother holding her child. This has been quite an emotional experience for me and I hope you all enjoy it. I just hope the next challenge is a little less emotionally exhausting.

WOW - it immediately made me think of Chaim Potok - my favorite author - he talks about Guernica in the Asher Lev books.

I thought about doing this with starry night, or some other painting, but I decided that I didn't have time. I started a felt typewriter, but I never finished it, and seeing the entries, it wouldn't have won anyway. But, back to the subject, this is pretty amazing.
