I am having my mom pick up some romance novels from the give away shelf in my hometown library (I have yet to find a give-away shelf at a library in Mpls) and I'll be trying this out this coming week. Thanks for the great tutorial - I am excited to try this!!

I love it!  I wonder if there's a way to add pockets for debit cards....

Possibly a silly question...but where do you get vinyl? I'm assuming "at the craft store" but I guess what I mean is how does it come? Is it in sheets or is it on a bolt like fabric? I of course would also love to make these!

The vinyl comes on a roll/bolt.  I get mine at Wal-Mart, and it's pretty cheap.  If they run out, I usually check the remnant bin, and almost always score some there.  They have different thicknesses, and I prefer the thicker vinyl (sturdier).  Smiley

Awww... thanks!  My brother LOVES "The Shining" too, so I gave it to him... and it's on display in his tattoo shop!  Cheesy

I am sooo excited to make these, I finally have all of the supplies. I started the other night, but I messed up on the snaps, I put it through both layers of vinyl on the end so it effectively sealed shut the little pocket. DOH!

But, that's ok, it was kinda a practice run, I didn't have heavy duty snaps, just regular ones like I put on baby onesies and it wasn't with a book cover, I was trying to use a mini movie poster for my Harry Potter obsessed friend (I have a whole book of them to work with). I hope I will have some finished ones to show in a couple days!

Oh, oh, and the really funny part is that one of my favorite books' series when I was little was The Baby-Sitters Club...and I got the one titled "Mary Anne Saves the Day" to use for this project. And my name is Mary Ann! Ok, maybe I'm the only one that thinks that is awesome/hilarious, but I love it!
