From the Interweave Knits Winter 2006 issue
http://www.interweaveknits.com/preview/2006_winter.asp

When I saw kathyruth's results over here:

I just knew I had to atleast make an attempt. I've never tried to knit anything this big before, so I'm probably in over my head. Still, is there anyone who want to join me while I aspire to make this?

I've always thought that pattern looks really fun to knit, but my list of projects that need to be finished is a little too long at this point. I'll enjoy seeing how everybody else's come out though!

I'd like to, but the pattern only has two sizes, and I'm neither one.  Cry

I'd REALLY like to make this, but I would have to back order the magazine.  Could someone give me the dimensions/sizes it's patterned for?  Thanks!

30 and 43 inches. No in-between.

How annoying.

yuck!  Well, maybe I'll try it-but I've got other things to finish first anyway.  Thanks!

I have already made this cardi, here's a link to all my blog posts on it:
http://rycrafty.blogspot.com/search/label/Rambling%20Rose.

I'm embarassed, I finished it in February, and I still don't have a full shot of me in it. I haven't found buttons I like yet, that's why.

I modified it so I could knit the body as one piece until the armholes, and that did give a bit of extra room, as the 4 stitches that would normally get taken up in the seaming were actual body stitches. I have a 34" bust, so I made the 30" and it fits very well. I think I had the same gauge, but can't remember.
I also didn't to all the intarsia, because I didn't have that much contrast colour, and I was knitting from my stash. I did the shells on the sleeves, and the button/neck band and that was it.

I think the negative ease works well with this pattern to stretch out the lace, although I finally understand why some people sew grosgrain ribbon along the button hole band, as it can stretch.

I just started working on this about three weeks ago! I finished the back, but got distracted by finals and it has been sitting in my knitting bag ever since.

Maybe this will inspire me to finish! I'll post a picture soon.

I was thinking what if I make this in one color?
