I started with this (a scratchy old sweater that I never wear):




It's already felted, I forgot to take a picture of it before it's date with Mr. Washing Machine. Here's a close up comparison with an unfelted piece (my camera cozy!)...




And with a little cutting and blanket stitching, the sleeves turned into this:




A second artsy angle:



Now if only I had a sore muscle...

Ill probably do this to my hot water bottle, too. Thats much better than wrapping a towel around it...  Cheesy

Actually, it was both of them.  I cut open the seams and laid them out and they fit perfectly around the bottle.

And I've got the entire body of the sweater leftover to make other things with  (coin purses, IPOD cozies, glasses cases, whatever).

I really prefer the hot water bottle to electric heating pads.  Seems much more natural somehow.  And the shape molds to your body in a much better way.
