I'm currently studying a diploma of costume (its such a fantastic course) and we get to make such fantastic period pieces!!

Anyway, this is my HSC major work that I did for Textiles a couple of years ago. Only now have I managed to photograph it on a mannequin (so lazy!). I costumed the character of Ariel, who is a sprite like creature. The gender and number of actors who play ariel (like a trio together) is open to interpretation with Ariel, but obviously, my idea was more of a singular female version.

Here are some pictures

Oh my.  That is one beautiful dress. I love the embroidery and the flowy-ness of the skirt part.

Wow, I'm speechless! The skirt is gorgeous and so flowy-- it reminds me of water. And the colors are fabulous. Well done!

I really like the dragonfly on the bodice.  You've done an amazingly neat job of it all, good work!

It's really fantastic! The skirt is beautiful, and the dragonflies -  Cheesy and skillfully done too!
