Thanks, everyone! I'm such a sucker for positive reinforcement.

I did find gold Glitterspun (at Crafty Planet in Minneapolis, the cutest craft store in the WORLD ... I hope that's not unacceptable advertising -- it's more like unbridled gushing). So I started C3PO last night. I'll post a photo when I finish.

CraftADDchick: I'm still fairly new to crocheting, so I find the Glitterspun pretty annoying.  Smiley I always find myself afraid to use anything smaller than a G hook, which is terribly big for Glitterspun, which gets really thin when you pull it. I should have used at least an F, probably an E, and maybe even (shudder) a D. But I was too far into C3PO before I realized it, and I wasn't about to tear it all out. Visually, though, Glitterspun is great for droids!

LetterGhost: HA! I was thinking about Jabba! There's that scene where C3PO and R2D2 go see Jabba, and I thought that would be funny to have them reenacting it on my dining room table. And I even have some Fun Fur I considered for Chewbacca, but I think he'd have to be a lot bigger for the hair to be appropriate to the scale ... so I'll have to find some other fuzzy yarn for him.

This has been so fun. I'll be able to post C3PO tomorrow.

Thanks for the info on the Glitterspun. I'm still pretty new at crcohet myseld (not counting the 30 years between the time I first learned and the time I re-learned), so I'll take any advice  Wink
