I am always untangling yarn for my wife.  I don't mind, I enjoy puzzles of all sorts.

But if she came to me with that mess, my suggestion to her would be to mix some different colors of yarn in and felt that sucker flat.

I like to rewind yarn on big spools, not in balls.  Like those little ones they use for floss, only I make them from the sides of cardboard boxes.  Wife finds it frustrating using the spools, but less so than untangling things herself.

Oh if only my boy would do that for me! That's a great idea about felting it though, I've got some leftover roving so I might just do that!

I somehow managed to get several rolls of yarn intertwined into my laundry pile, and I am now completely unable to find the rolls of yarn or separate my laundry, if that makes you feel any better.  Every time I need a pair of pants I have to go in with scissors.

haha..  I find unwrapping balls of yarn relaxing.  thinking in loops and turns instead of hard angles and what stitch goes where.

Best of luck to you and anyone else that does not have me around to untangle them! XD
