I looked back through my swap journal and card binder and the first noted ATC only swap I did was March 2006. Before that I received and sent a few in PEP packages to partners. PEP is Partner Exchange Package. You would send one item for each letter of the month. As it was a cardmaking/rubberstamping site I would get them randomly as filler, but that's how I started.

Mine was back in 2004, but in one of my moves, all of my atc's came up missing.  Three moves later, they haven't turned up, so I'm officially calling them gone.  Sad

My first swap/trade was one you hosted, GG, here in February of 2006.  It was the Favorite Song Swap and this was the card I made for it.

Pirate Dance

I made a bunch of the same card and I kept one.  It still makes me laugh.

have2craft - that is so sad - I would hate to lose any of mine.

Queen Of Fools - love that card then and now  Grin

have2craft, it really is a shame you lost your ATC's. How horrible!

goatgoddess, it's kinda special to see the first cards you received and made. You've grown so much as an artist.

Queen of Fools, your first swap card was a good one!

My first trade was on swap-bot.  I was too shy to join a swap here!  It was in September 2006, and I made these cards for it:

Of the three, I still like the center one with wings, but I can't believe I *ever* made backgrounds that plain!  Wink

I love hearing about first trades!  It's so...equalizing Wink  We were all newbies at some point.

My first trade was in March 2006...I posted about my first ATC experiments and got messaged about a trade.  I asked a million questions about how it all works, thankfully she was very helpful and patient Cheesy

Since I didn't have a scanner or a decent camera back then, she scanned them for me so I could have a proper image of the three I sent her:
