I know that there are a hundred different poeple out there who need help with mother's day gifts and I'm no different.
My mom loves anything as long as it has a picture of a mother and baby on it. but she has a lot of trinkets like that and I want to be more original.
she loves anything to do with children (mother of 6).
she loves to quilt.
loves to decorate (interior design).
She does NOT garden.
She loves the color green.

I was thinking about making an aplique of a mother and baby on some green fabric she could use for a pillow or wall hanging.  Thank you for reading, I would love to hear your ideas.

You could make color transfers of each child or combinations of children, varying ages, as they are now, or all as babies, etc.. Transfer them to squares of fabric that she can incoporate into her quilts. Same idea as what you just mentioned for a pillow, but on light colored (muslin) or white fabric squares.

Transfer paper (for inkjets or laser printers) is soooooo versatile in the many finishes to which your printed pictures can be transferred.

But,back to fabric: can you sew? Maybe even just a simple, rustic, naive lap-sized quilt with the pictures of the kids? What a neat gift for taking the chill off as she sits and reads, watches a movie, talks on the phone.

I've inspired myself, LOL!  Think I'll do a lap quilt...   Cheesy
