Cross-Section of a Cloud

Here are the inner workings of a cloud, laid out for all to see. In case you didn't know, there's a large resevoir of water for all the drops, a bunch of gears powered by a tiny running man, timpany drums hooked up to speakers for the thunder, and a Tesla coil in the middle for the lightning.

Hah!  I love this!!  I especially like the lil' dudes gathering the raindrops into buckets and dropping them from the cloud...though, their position reminds me of the scene in "Office Space"...."So, what exactly is it you do?"....

This is exactly how I will explain clouds when I've got kids..

This is indeed all digital. I did all the linework/shapes in Illustrator, and the photographic textures are just a picture I took outside work the other day. (I just so happened to look up on a day when the sky was full of a perfect cloudy texture.)

Hejin: I have a portfolio that I just recently updated, so it has all my illustration except for this one.'

KiwiQ: I realized half-way through that the little guys were pretty much useless. I mean, the water would fall either way. To justify keeping them in there, I decided that they're expertly trained to time the drops so they manage to hit my glasses every time, no matter how fast I run from the car to the house. (That's the main reason I want to get Lasik surgery, after all.)

Losing-Penny: I think I may put this up on Threadless, despite the fact that people are always so mean up there. I really need to start putting up more submissions so I can will all those free shirts.
