I think it's just a few folks that kind of get me down. I put a lot of work into my stuff, so when someone tears it down, I get discouraged kind of easily. I usually get a lot of comments like, "I don't like your design at all," or "This is really unoriginal." Nothing bad, I'm just really sensitive.

I will definitely check out that children's book. There are so many out there, and a lot of them are just like all the rest, so I'm always on the lookout for interesting, original ones. Do you think it would be something I'd be able to find and thumb through at Borders?

Losing-Penny: I think I may put this up on Threadless, despite the fact that people are always so mean up there. I really need to start putting up more submissions so I can will all those free shirts.

That's just what I was going to suggest! You should just alter it so it's the single cloud and the rain, and format it for a shirt. I'd totally buy it!

Props to Crafting!

Angry Well that's awful! Do they really think they are the bees' knees???! Angry

Go for it please i'd buy it too (unless they charge me stupid for overseas shipping  Sad)
Don't ever think your stuff is not good enough!!!
They have a cloud factory at the moment http://www.threadless.com/product/817/The_Cloud_Factory
but I'd prefer yours because it is less 70s, more modern and sleek.

i was looking on the threadless website and i like your design is sooo much better than most of their other stuff!

Aww... Thanks, guys! I did go ahead and submit the design, but it takes them a couple of days to review it and put it up on the site.

I did see that Cloud Factory one, and I couldn't help but wonder if people would think I was trying to copy a similar idea. At least I know that I finished my drawing before I saw that design. I seem to have a bit of a copycat issue with Threadless these days. They just printed one shirt with an idea that is EXACTLY like something I have been working on in my sketchbook, and then there's this design compared to this illustration I did last summer. It's funny how two people, without ever meeting one another, can happen to have the same idea at the same time.

Anyways, enough of my rambling. The design should be up on Threadless soon, so I'll let you folks know.

yea i love threadless. but the people there dont quite understand the idea that more than one person can have similar thoughts. if there is something similar (even if it's some obscure website that not many people have heard about) anywhere online. you get accused of copying.

That is brilliant!  I love how it all comes together...the little men, the cogs, everything!
