Inspired by smurfette, rickrackruby and all the others who make things out of ties, I gave it a shot.  This is Christmas stocking I made for a stocking swap on Nervousness.org. (The ties are red, but they look hot pink on my monitor.)

Back:


If I were doing it again I would not have made the back out of ties, but used some other material.  Fabric made out of ties is thick and hard to sew.  If i'd had a zipper foot I would have put piping around the edges.

awesome stocking. very unique. you could make them in colors that match your decor, hang them up, and put poutpurri or something in them.
