This is Luvgun, from a mochimochiland pattern.  The pattern will be available soon - I was a lucky test knitter.  You can check out the talented designer's other work at her web site, and these Flickr pages, here (I especially love her mouse and snake!), and here.

POW POW!!!

i'm assuming the name "luv gun" means it's supposed to be nonviolent, but that would be one sweet toy to have for cowboys and indians.

... although maybe not for me since i always wanna be an indian

As the spokesperson at the National Tribal Conference in Springfield said, "Who can blame her for wanting to be one of us? We have a noble heritage and cheekbones to die for." 

The original pattern calls for a more western-looking gun (like Gunshy, here), but my kid wanted a "police gun", meaning all-black.  I blocked it so that it's sort of cartoon-y.

How cute!  I never thought of that.  The designer puts little eyes on all the patterns, so the barrel is supposed to be the snout/nose, but I couldn't see that until you mentioned that it looks like a dog.

I think I saw this somewhere else, (on the designers blog, maybe?) complete with "ammo"...which was little red hearts...so cute!
