Wow!!!!!

that's awesome.  really. Cheesy

Looking at that purse, I really can't put much merit in your lack of confidence about your sewing skills ;P  Very nicely done.

i think what holds me back from attempting the tie skirt  is the idea of how many ties it would take to get around me....i need an entire choir's worth....

but the purse- is FAB- the i love the v on the front- lovely

I was JUST thinking the same thing!   And seeing as my local Goodwill charges $1 a tie...   Wow, that would be like, a hundred dollars for the skirt (especially with the fact that I would use the skinny ends at the top of the skirt...   You know, making sort of an A-line type of deal).   I really just need to go someplace else...   my local Goodwill commits highway robbery, I swear.

i actually made a purse the other day i am very proud of.
i got 4 ties from various thrift stores on adventures and sewed them together. with my very handy (ha) sewing work the ties curved to a side. it made for a very interesting purse.

the picture makes the purse's flap seems crooked, its actually not... however, made for some interesting sewing obstacles. i hate worrying about needles breaking and topstitching thick pieces of fabric. it turned out very nice.

THIS IS BEAUTIFUL.  I BOUGHT A HUGE BAG OF TIES AT THE SALVATION ARMY SEVERAL YEARS AGO, AND COULD NEVER FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO WITH THEM, SO I GAVE THEM AWAY LAST YEAR **SICK**

Many, many years ago my sister made a quilt for me out of a whole bunch of thrift store ties.  They were perfect length for a twin size quilt, I'm sure they could be pieced together to make larger ones as well.  The purse reminded me of it...
