i actually made a purse the other day i am very proud of.
i got 4 ties from various thrift stores on adventures and sewed them together. with my very handy (ha) sewing work the ties curved to a side. it made for a very interesting purse.

the picture makes the purse's flap seems crooked, its actually not... however, made for some interesting sewing obstacles. i hate worrying about needles breaking and topstitching thick pieces of fabric. it turned out very nice.

i'm in love!
i'm going to have to try it.

did you have to change the needle on your sewing machine for something so thick?

actually... i just shut my eyes and put the pedal to the medal. i was pretty scared that the needle would break but thankfully it didn't.

i just wear it with just about anything.... plain t's... nothing with big patterns..

wow fantastic idea! i like the way it has an asymetrical look to it.

regarding machine needles, as long as you use a larger size needle (at least a 16, maybe an 18) you shouldn't have any problems with breakages  Smiley
