I eat this brain protector!
How do you make the brim stay stiff?

That brain protector is RAAR grr ugggh!  What did you use to stabilize the brim?

I saw people asking for a tutorial.  You don't need one, there is a free program called wildthings from wildginger with a newsboy brain protector, along with lots of other accessorie patterns.  Just download the program from here:

http://www.wildginger.com/products/wildthings.htm

You can customize the size of everything, and it comes with basic directions in the index, but the makers assume you have a basic sewing knowledge (no drawings to guide you)

I was thinking of making a similar brain protector from some houndstooth wool with black and white checks.  Now I am totally motivated!

Thanks!

for the brim I just put a layer of the stiff lining stuff the jacket had in it in the middle (between two outer layers of the outer jacket fabric) and it stays nice and stiff!
