Hi everybody. I just moved up to Huntsville a few months ago and me and my sister are looking into taking some sewing classes this summer. The problem is we don't know where any are. Does anybody here know of anyplace that has sewing classes in Huntsville?

check out the local hancock fabrics, michael's, and hobby lobbys for classes!

I'm in Huntsville - and can answer your question!

There are a few places you can go to...
My favorite is the Huntsville Sew & Vac... it is on Andrew Jackson & Oakwood.  They have several groups - I belong to their machine embroidery group that meets once a month - and also they have a "sew til you go" group that meets once a month on a friday night from 6pm til whenever you go - I am always the first to kick out about 10.. but others stay until like midnight... Bring your own sewing machine and projects.. it is a ton of fun!  You should come one night!!!
I can forward you the class schedule for there if you would like..

They also have other classes as well throughout the months - and their prices on supplies and whatnot are great..

You can also go to a sewing store that is on Arcadia.  I don't go there as they have a cat that walks about the store - I am allergic to kitties... and that one apparantly really gets my eyes itching. I can look up the name of that place. They offer a slew of classes as well..

Hancock's over on University has classes as well - I am not sure about the one on Memorial Parkway.  I assume it does. I like the lady that teaches the classes there although I have not taken any - I just take my projects - and my tutorial printouts with me to the sew til you go - normally there is someone there that can help me if I need help...

Glad to see some other people here in Huntsville!  I keep forgetting to check the board to see who all is in Alabama... I need to keep up on it!

Wow thanks so much! I live right down the street from Sew and Vac. I'm actually in Atlanta for school right now but I am gonna be back in Huntsville for the summer and I plan on taking some sewing classes when I get back so I will check those out. Thanks again.

Huntsville Ice Cream Meet Up
Monday July 28th 12 noon

5000 Whitesburg Dr S, #156
Huntsville AL
Corner of Whitesburg Dr and Airport Road

I not expecting this to be an all afternoon gig unless we want it to be... (I will not be offended if its a drop by, pick up ice cream cone - stop by the table and leave -sort-of-thing ...) but I thought it would be fun to do a quick meet up with those who utilize Craftsters.org.

If you have any questions - don't hesitate to ask. Looking forward to meeting some new crafty people!
