I made this yesterday in no time flat. I'm a self-taught sewer so I never knew you could get a hem to curl until I saw vegbee's tutorial.

I took an old t-shirt of mine gave it a few snips, made a casing, ruffled the hem, tacked on some ties and voila:

I have 5 t's ready to go for similar tops. Yay.

That looks awesome! Well done on the sewing, and your little girl looks very happy with it too.

She's a total camera whore! I have to keep an extra close eye on her at the park or wherever there might be people wanting to take pictures because she'll put herself into ANY picture.

After I took the top picture I told her, "you're such a cheeseball, Bridget" and she told me, "just like you, mama"  Grin What can I say? The kid's got a point.

That rocks - your edge came out much nicer than mine do.  Is that elastic around the top?

Yep. Just made a quick casing.

The other day I whipped up this top:

in the same fashion, but even easier! It was an old tank of mine that had some staining at the top, so I turned it upside down to make the shirt and all I had to do was snip a hole in the hem/seam allowance, feed the elastic through and stitch the hole closed. So easy!

I'm having a ball with the curled hems! Thanks for sharing that info with us!
