You guys have been inspiring me for months (over a year, maybe?) and I finally got around to making my own bag. The fact that my old one was turning into little shreds of fabric helped too... So this is my first finished bag and my first finished sewing machine project in general (note the "finished" part). I'm happy with it, although I have already discovered some things that I'd like to fix. And a plug for this thread: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=11808.0. This was honestly one of the best tutorials I've ever followed.

Outside (sorry for the quality =/):

Inside keys and cell phone pockets:

Pens/pencils and "unmentionable" zipper pockets:

Thanks for looking. Smiley

Thanks for the nice comments. Smiley I learned A LOT so I think my next one won't take nearly as long (I hope). The lining is satin (Atom Red, I think it was called) and shed like no fabric I've ever seen. My house is -covered- in red strings right now. Still fun though, and I agree with all the people I've seen who've said it: This is definitely going to be an addictive hobby.

This is really great.  You did such a nice job for your first bag.  I definitely didn't attempt anything as complicated as a zipper on my first bag.  I'm really impressed.

I'm interested in personal swaps -- I love bracelets & necklaces and I don't know how to make them.
