My dad has been a truck driver for a little over 22 years. He loves traveling (obviously), reading western books, those little hand held poker games, fishing, and pretty much takes care of his big rig and pickup truck like they are his own children. He's also diabetic. I'm clueless on what to buy or make him. I no longer have a sewing machine, but I could easily use the no sew stuff that you use an iron on. Have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Hey Hippy chick, how about a sun visor tidy (if he doesn't already have one), like this:

It doesn't necessarily need to be practical - could be made as a photo frame/holder instead.

If he drives alot a mix tape/cd would be cool too.

Or how about making some diabetic cookies or sweets and presenting them in a cute truck box:

Not exactly the right shape for either of his vehicles but a bit of creative decorating and you could make it look more like a big rig.

Just a few off the top of my head - good luck Smiley

Thanks, punka! I didn't think of any of that!  Grin

You could do a cool Western looking cover for his truck seat, too.

What I want to know is why are dads so difficult to gift for? I swear... it's challenging every year.

That sounds awesome! I'm finally getting a new sewing machine this weekend, so it won't be that difficult.  Smiley

And Dads are always harder to buy for! Especially on Father's Day, Christmas seems easier for me.

Great idea for her dad and as for your question, here's my theory: It's girls that have the most trouble buying for dads because well, they're guys. It's the same way for them. For example: Guess what my mom's boyfriend got her for her birthday? A SKILLET. I mean, how much dumber could a guy get? xD
