I'm 18 and I can't remember the last time I went out on a Saturday night...
I usually spend my weekends crafting, and my sister always comes over on Saturdays. So her, my mom, and I have tea parties and knit/crochet together.
Crafting is my life! So I spend as much time as possible crafting, attending shows/fairs, or going to events. I'd much rather spend my time with fellow crafters at a crafting get together than go and do the typical young adult thing.
I enjoy going out to casual things with my friends...although, I usually end up bringing my knitting with me too.

Crafting can be a great social life.  Grin My SnB group hangs out every Thursday to knit/crochet/whatever you want, drink, and be noisy. It's my favorite night of the week! If you don't have some kind of local crafty group, try starting one. For awhile the one I was in was just a couple girls, but it grew a lot as we randomly found new people, or they found us. Crafty people are fantastic people to spend your time with.

Southern5footer, is it something you can maybe spray with Febreeze to get rid of the smoke smell?

I tried that. It didn't work, but the handles are wood, so I don't think I can wash it in a machine, and don't want to ruin it. BAH

Kudos to you Elextra for doing your own thing.  Grin

I live in California... you can't smoke anywhere. It is fairly awesome.

...not with someone under 18 in a car.

Really? That's pretty great. My mom's parents used to smoke in the car and wouldn't let them roll the windows down because it was too cold.

Jumping on the "staying at home on weekend evenings to craft" bandwagon!
