i just spent ages working on these cute "recycled" paper notebooks today. i am so excited about them. i would love feedback. :-)

a little bit about them. they are created with "recycled" computer paper rejects (so some have text and/or images on them) with blank colored paper mixed in. the outside is a heavy cardstock with varying stamps and words on them. the chord is hemp twine and is a single pamphlet stitch.

here are some action shots:

Beautiful...love that you used the paper even with prints on the back.  Great idea! I especially love the one with "words" very original! Great job.

it's a basic pamphlet stitch.

this one shows multiple signatures into a larger book. the ones i made were just one signature.

does that help?

Awesome idea--I've been collecting my expired one-a-day calendar pages into a little notebook, too, for a scratch pad. I'm just using a binder clip, but maybe I'll use some cardstock and make a little book.  Grin

Tapestry needle?

that would work too. i honestly just looked for a needle with the biggest eyelit i could find. it had to be big enough to fit hemp twine - pretty thick. i think i broke a few when i was working on it, so would recommend getting a bigger pack if you are trying this out.

These look great!!!!

I love everything about them...the recycled paper, the lovely images on the covers (and the simpleness of the ones without the images), the string ties, the hand stitching......everything!!!!

Perfect!!!!
