Knitwit, the yarn you spun for alwaysinmyroom are gorgeous!
Now you need to spin more for your etsy shop so I can buy them.  Wink

I sure hope I'm getting better.  All of these are 100% merino and between 150-200 yards.  Help me name them?

This is dyed with Wilton's Icing Dye.

This one is with icing dye as well.

As is this one.  Sorry it's so far away.

This one is with Easter Egg Dye.  It really works!  This is the only one that I dyed as roving instead of already spun.

Soooo...any help with names?  Or any ideas on how I can improve?  I'm still kind of new to spinning, only been doing it since August, I think.

Beautiful yarn everyone...I'm jealous of the person who got all that yarn from you, Knitwit!

All the fibers this week are fantastic!  I love all the bright colors Cheesy

As promised, here is the metric ass load of fiber I spun this week (which is just a little bigger than a standard ass load for those who are wondering about the conversion)  They are all 4 oz of superwash from Spunky Eclectic, about 250-300 yards each.

Upside-down Frown

Pie in the Sky (my son thought that name was hysterical)

Boogie Days

Brain Freeze

Navajo Gems

A "stocking cap" I made out of Navajo Gems.  I had planned on using all the other colorways for these hats too, but I am not sure I like how they come out.  I was hoping for more of a Stocking feeling and less of a Snork feeling.

And I finished this blanket for my daughter in the Maid Marrion colorway, this one is actually Merino singles

Such amazing yarns today!  I love the rainbow one and those black and pink rolags are cool!  Hope to see them spun up here.

I just got a new toy- an Indian Tahkli support spindle and spun my first cotton punis.  I love it!

I have more info and TONS of links on spinning on a Tahkli on my blog here - www.pieknits.com/blog/

That blanket is gorgeous. Lovely stuff guys.

I like making stuff. Rumor has it, I'm an elf. Like a Santa Elf, not one of those elegant LOTR types.  Mostly because I compulsively craft and partially because I have green shoes.

Everyone's yarn is so gorgeous!

Here's my first fiber Friday contribution...

 It's 89 yards...wool & thread.
And because you can't see all of the colors in the skein photos....here's a shot when I was winding it...

the bottom color is actually violet...the flash is making it look like dark blue

And here's  what I'm spinning right now....it's a mystery batt I purchased...so there's all types of nifty animals and synthetics in there....

Oh man, everything looks great this week.

This one is a 50-50 Tencel and Merino blend.  It's about worsted weight (my thickest yarn yet!) and Navajo plied.  I absolutely could not stand spinning it, and someone either here or on Livejournal suggested I try spinning from the fold.  That might be my new favorite technique, and I absolutely love spinning this fiber now.  I've been really obsessed with T. Rex lately, so I call it "Lizard Leather Boots"

Wow! This is a really good week - everything looks great!

I only really spun one skein this week:

Lady's Slipper - 284 yds (!) of sport weight merino wool yarn. I rarely spin this thin, so I'm always amazed at the yardage.

I did manage to put together a few learn-to-spin kits this week! With woodburned drop spindles and handdyed roving.

Wow! Thanks  Smiley I don't know if I mentioned it but alwaysinmyroom is making me a quilt for this yarn - so I feel like I'm really getting the better part of the deal! And yes, I should slow down on the swaps and work on etsy more but man, swapping is addicting.

More great yarns - yay! Pie in the sky is pretty! Hooray for more rainbow yarn! Love those spindles!

palaverly - how do you mean improve? Your yarn looks perfect!
