The second book that you have in the first picture, the blue one with the gold tree on it, i have that same one, i'm going to make a notebook out of it, i took the pages out allready. I just thought that was funny.

I really like your idea, i never would have thought to use books as picture frames, and they way you can prop them open is a bonus.

Thanks for the wonderful idea - I bought a complete set of encylcopedia britannica for a "book" shelf and only used 5 for my shelf... Now I know what to do with some of the others!!!
