With some inspiration from Green Mountain Mama at

http://greenmountainmama.blogspot.com/2006/05/whiplash-color.html

I created a reusable and highly effective cover for my Swiffer. Now I don't have to buy those expensive covers and ruin the environment every time I sweep my floor!

This is from Mason Dixon, of course.

How I attached it.

Yes, it really works!

*Edited to fix broken link. Sorry!

yay! Kudos to you for doing something to help the environment. Every little bit counts, and it makes you feel so good. I think that is one snazzy looking Swiffer cover, too!

That is a great idea that I would've never thought of! Our home has pretty much no surfaces to use a dry Swiffer on (unfortunately). Great job !

its true, every little act helps, and it works as a domino effect too!  you do something, inspires others and show how they are also responsible and how they can make a difference.

This is great! I feel guilty when I'm buying those disposable Swiffer covers as well. The cool thing about this is you could also use it wet- like a mop, since it's essentially a cotton cloth. Plus it looks awesome!

I also commend this - good job! Will have to try this, though I wonder if other (non-Mason Dixon) washcloth patterns would work as well...

That looks great! I've made one of those too (okay, for an "off-brand" swiffer, not a real one, but close enough)! They work really well, and I made a bunch so they just go in the wash soon as I'm done with it.
