This bag is for a coworker of mine.  She was recently awarded Social Worker of the Year by the Sacramento Association for the Retarded. (I know, totally un-PC name!  Wink).  It is a messenger style bag in her favorite colors. I think it is a little sassy, just like her!

And the inside...

Yay! Thanks all!

Very adorable.  No I mean really it is just quite fantastic.  I love the colors and the pattern, and all of your handiwork in general.  I hope that she loves it.

^^^I love that shape of bag. I had a bought one out of soft courduroy, and the slouchy fabric made it the perfect size to fit either just my wallet and dayplanner, and curve around my hip, or stretch to cram in my wallet, dayplanner, clipboard, two text books, my dance shoes and clothes, a notebook, and my lunchbox. I've been wanting to make one to replace it for a while now. I'm sure your coworker will get a ton of use out of it.

Great messenger! I love the cording and the sewing that you did on the flap. Is it difficult to put cording on?

I like this bag!  Heh, yep we have a similar local association with a name that sounds just as non-pc.  Do you work in developmental disabilities/mental health field too?  Not really related to the bag, I'm just curious! ^_^

You guys are awesome! Thanks for all the warm-fuzzy bag love!  I am very excited to give it to her on Monday.  The stuff around the edge of the flap is bias tape, and it is kind of a pain in the bootie.  I think the trick is to just use a lot of steam and take your time so it doesn't get wrinkly.

I do work in mental health.  I work with folks who have both a developmental disability and a mental health diagnosis.  I am doing my social work internship.  4 more weeks, then a will be all graduated!

Thanks again everyone!!
