I wanted a no-think project -- you know, actually get gauge, no modifications. So I chose Meg Swansen's arch-shaped stockings from Vogue Knitting Fall '06.

Ha. Ha ha ha. Ha. I got gauge, but the stockings aren't so much made for curvy-calved folks (like me!) and the pattern itself... wasn't as detailed as I would've liked (they don't explain how the heel should look AND there are no pictures of it), but I slogged through and finally did it! Turns out it's less of a "pattern" and more of a "guideline."

What I didn't get I just made up. Here they are!

Awesome socks!  I really like the patterning and the color combo you chose.  Nice job of "slogging through".

I tried to learn to knit just so I could make fabulous socks like these. Alas, I was a failure at the knitting, so I will just have to admire these from afar!

They are great- I love the color combination and I love the pattern on the bottom.

At work, just so folks could admire them, I'd have to take my shoes off and sit with my feet up on the desk...of course I'd probably get fired, so I guess it's a good thing I don't have a pair of these socks!

So pretty, love the colors.

Thanks for the warning about the pattern, it's actually on my to-knit list!
