I've been working on this amigurumi Spider-man for a few weeks now and finally sat down last night to finish him. Then, of course, I had to gather up my hubby and don my "Fan-girl costume" to get pictures!

The obligatory non-action photo of amigurumi Spider-man:

Now, I realize that the doll isn't precisely accurate to the comic/movie Spider-man, however, he is accurate to what I was working off of, which is a comic I do where the character (Spidey Fan-Girl Liz, my alter-ego) has this plushie. It was so cute that I always wanted one, and just finally made one so I can have it for Spider-man 3.

Now, on to fun action shots with my crocheted Spider-man gloves!

Both the gloves and the plushie have acrylic paint webbing painted on that took forever.

I forgot the blue on his back so I had to glue on felt. Good thing, actually, because I needed to paint that logo on too.

Awww, aren't we cute?

Spidey shows he's not afraid of heights-- which is easy to do when you're 13 inches tall standing!

Awww, Super Eskimo Kisses! His arms and legs are stuffed with dry beans so they're floppy and he'll stand and sit.

Waiting for the third movie together.

Well, I used a pattern for the body and then unfortunately just winged it on the other parts. The hardest part was finding a good body to use the pattern from-- once I found that it was okay. The head is basically a short, upside-down body that I decreased on until the chin was closed. Then the arms and legs were done in rounds, increasing until I got the diameter I wanted and then crocheting in front loops for a row, then just working up and decreasing to make them. I wish I had written the pattern down. @_@

Oh yes, a small Tobey inside would be wonderful, but he's too pudgy to have Tobey in him. At least he's plenty loveable on his own!

smashergrl: Thank you very much! I love it when I rock! Cheesy

AHHHHHH!!!!!!

I had to get that out of my system. Your Spidey is amazing! I can't wait to see the third film myself; hopefully your Spidey doesn't give too many spoliers to the upcoming action.
