Just so people know the G Street Fabrics at Potomac mills closed. Has a bonus they have also lowered there prices!

I'm guessing Michaels & AC Moore are too ordinary to bother mentioning?

Other places I haven't seen mentioned yet:

Vienna:  Star's Beads (independent bead store on Church St, has some nice stuff, and lots of good classes)

Tysons Corner Mall: Beadazled (one of two reasons I generally bother to go to the mall these days; the other is bubble tea Wink )

and if you're looking for beads or other jewelry supplies, I'd highly recommend heading up to Accent Beads in Rockville; it's not too far away, and they have the most amazing selection of seed beads ever, and generally slightly better prices on a lot of other things as well.

Falls Church: Needlewoman East (fantastic shop on Rt 7 that sells more kinds of embroidery floss than you probably knew existed, as well as patterns and other related things)

Epicurean Crafts in historic Occoquan (right outside of Fairfax) has a great selection of fabric and beautiful hand-dyed wools.  They also have kits, patterns, books, etc.  They're at 305 Mill Street.  She's added a bunch of Amy Butler, Heather Bailey and Minny Muu fabrics lately.

I wanted to add that Potomac Bead Company has a good website where they sell wholesale and they also offer classes and have the schedule online. I love it there!

Don't see any mention here of a wonderful stamping store called Angela's Happy Stamper, in Reston.  It's in a funny industrial park location, but she has made it into a wonderful, cozy store.  Also, they offer great classes, often with well known artists, such as Claudine Hellmuth.  Angela is a real person, and she's often in the shop -- once you've been there a couple of times, she knows you!  Happy to take special orders, and they will call you when it arrives.  She carries many brands including Tsukineko, Lockhart, Hero Arts, Impression Obsession, Penny Black, Memory Box, Memento Ink, Color Box...tons and tons.

Here's the contact info:
