That is amazing!  I love the little fabric-covered buttons, they are a great touch that make it look so finished.
I think I like your version better than the inspiration one, the fabric is prettier!

I'm not crazy enough (yet) to handsew an entire dress! lol. The only things I handsewed were things like attaching trim.
I estimate there's 6 1/2-7 yards of fabric in this dress. Heavy enough when you pick it up, but the undergarments help support the weight when wearing it.

Nothing beyond what I've taught myself, I'm afraid ^^; I do want to learn more professional techniques, especially pattern drafting though.

Whoa!  You did such an awesome job!  I can only imagine how hard you must have worked on this!  You should get a job making costumes for plays or something, cause you'd totally rock at it!
