I am so proud of these, I just have to share.

I've been playing with lotion bar recipes and finally created one I like.  Of course, the packaging is the best part.  I had trouble figuring out how to label them, but I got some round labels... I wish I had pictures.  Maybe later.

Sweet Lavender (Vanilla bean and lavender)

White Chocolate

Honeysuckle Tea

I've also got a Raspberry Blossom version in the works.

I love the idea and the packaging but have to echo previous poster - what is a lotion bar?  I'm guessing it is some firmer version of body lotion.  Looks cool.  Smiley

I love the look, but I'm wondering about the plastic bags. I have found that plastic will suck the scent out of anything -- salts, bath bombs, lotion bars -- so I worry that your beautiful lotion bars will be scentless by the time they are given and/or sold.

Are you going to offer instructions and ingredient lists with the bars? I gave some out at Christmas and I had people trying to eat them, even though it clearly said it was a lotion bar. I would suggest you put a label on the lotion bar explaining what it is and how to use it. If you use a cellophane bag -- something that won't suck out the scent -- you can close it with a cute colourful sticker with the name and information of use on it. (Cellophane bags are cheap. I get about 100 for $5.00. The twist ties are about the same price. You can find these at craft and candy making stores. Make sure they are cellophane and not fancy shrink wrap!)

I was curious too, so I googled it...

What's a lotion bar? It's a solid moisturizer you can carry with you and rub on hands, elbows or whereever your skin is dry and itchy. In today's travel world the fact that this moisturizer is solid makes it infinitely more versatile than one that's not. Because you can still carry it on the plane with you. You can't do that as easily with a liquid moisturizer.

Thanks for posting that, Divabunny.

Mine are made with beeswax, mango butter, shea butter, cocoa butter, almond oil, mica and fragrance.  When you rub the bar on your skin, the butters start to melt.  It's like a rich solid lotion that melts with the heat of your body.  I love them.

I will, of course, sell them with ingredient labels and instructions.  The law requires it.  Smiley

I just hadn't finished the labels when I took pictures.

I haven't ever had problems with polyethylene bags "sucking" scent out of my products.  Poly is generally cheaper and, in my opinion, neater looking, than cellophane.

If anyone's looking for cute packaging stuff, I buy most of mine at at www.candylandcrafts .com.  They have really fun products.
