I used Cascade 220 superwash, about 140 yds for the large size.  You're going to want a worsted weight yarn that knits up at 5 sts/inch (post blocking or washing if you plan on doing that).

Hope this info helps! Smiley

I hate to be a pain but at the moment I can't download PDF's. I'd really like to buy the pattern though! Do you think you could cut and paste it into a Word doc and send *that*?

I love it in teal!!!

Yippy!  I just bought the pattern.  I need to finish up a few projects before starting  Angry I'm thinking of giving it a go in cotton, we'll see.

Thanks!  I really want to make a springy/summery hat, maybe in something like Cascade Sierra?  I haven't decided yet.  I didn't really think I would want to make another one after how many times I had to rip out and redo the pattern, but I do!

Ooh Cascade Sierra! I think you just helped me make up my mind on the yarn. I usually hate knitting with cotton (it hurts) and I wanted to make a summer hat so wool seemed wrong. I completely forgot about the 2 skeins of cascade sierra I have hanging out in my stash. It's a great yarn.
