I have an 80's model Singer 7033. I'm halfway through a project when the bottom thread started bunching badly, big loops and snarls using 4 times the amount of thread as the top. Now I can't get it to do anything else. I looked at some trouble shooting websites and it seems like it may have to do with the feed dogs. But I don't  believe I can raise or lower the dogs on this machine. Now I remember why I haven't sewn in a couple months.
I am so frustrated. It's not the tension, or at least not something I can control with the tension. It's doubly annoying, because I had the machine serviced not long ago and they said everything was working fine.
Do you all have any ideas? Or should I lug it into a fix-it shop again?

This might be a silly question, but did you try re-threading the machine?  Mine tends to do that when the top thread comes off the take up lever.

I love you Snowfall designs. I was about to take apart my whole machine, and all it needed was to be rethreaded (2x actually, it got better the first time and completely fixed the second. ) I'll be sure to do that first befor freaking out next time.
