I need help...Doll Skin???

Someone I'm swapping with, who lives in Norway, would like some "Doe Suede" doll skin...as much as I want to make some fabric dolls, I just never seem to have the time to work them in; therefore, I have NO IDEA about 'doll skin'...I just thought they were mostly made of linen.

Anyway-she cannot get that over there, and would like me to get some for her.  I've been searching the net, but cannot seem to find what she is wanting. 

So I thought I would come to the experts!

Does anyone know what this is, or what she might be looking for?  AND...where can I find it?  Is it something I can get at JoAnn's, Hancocks, Hobby Lobby, Michael's, quilt stores???

I haven't heard of anything called "doe suede".  Joanns and WalMart both carry "Alova" suede and Hancocks version is called "Buttersuede".  I don't think those would be suitable for doll making, though.  There is also something called "moleskin" that has a suede-y feel to it.  It's a bit heavier than standard cotton, but not as heavy as denim.  Does she say if it's stretchy or not?  Did she also say what specific purpose she's using it for?  Are they people type dolls or animal type dolls?

I've heard of the buttersuede one before as used for dolls. 
I just use calico and edge each square with glue so it doesn't fray to oblivion when I'm sewing

I know it's for people dolls.  I was in a quilt shop yesterday, and they didn't have anything like that...I'll have to get some more info from her, I guess, because I'm not having any luck.

HA!  Score one for me!   

I emailed her back, and I guess she doesn't really know what she is looking for either...just that that's what they call it there.  So I asked her if there was anything else I could send, and she said a Hawaiian quilting pattern.  WTF?  I mean, she has NEVER quilted before, and THAT is what she is chosing to start off with.  Skip right over those simple 9-patches!  lol!
