Hey guys, can you what kind of sewing thread do you use for sewing handbags?  I've been using 100% cotton but I would like to use a thicker thread.

Thanks Smiley

you can get a topstitching thread that is thicker. Also I beilive quilting thread is thicker as well. But i'm not really sure. I know it is stronger.

If you can't find it and want a real thick look in the stitching use your stretch stich if you have one on your machine. it goes back and forth and makes a very thick line for you. I have done this for years.

If you can't convince them, confuse them.

When the economy went down hill, the price seemed to stay the same but the quality decreased.  I use maxi lock serger thread in the cones for almost anything, it's strong enough to hold, and sews like a dream, plus the price is resonable.
