One night I was at Denny's with a group of friends and while they were busy talking about some random subject I was busy daydreaming of my next layout. While staring at the dessert menu in front of me I had an idea! What a great flip album it would make! I picked it up and started to try and figure out how the pages would come off of it when I heard my boyfriend bust out laughing next to me. I looked up and everyone was staring at me, grinning. They knew what I was up to.  Grin

So did you end up stealing it for this little project? I might just have to do the same thing. Very creative. I love it!

Thanks gals!  Actually *I* didn't steal it. A couple weeks later Bri was up there again with some of his buddies and HE swiped it for me!  That's a sure sign of a keeper there!  Grin

I totally snatched one of those on halloween. There was some liquor involved and the menu just struck me as funny, but I would never have thought of turning it into an album.

That is really a cute idea (the menu scrapbook, not the stealing... although that was really nice of your boyfriend to "get" it for you).  You and I think alike.  I am always looking at menus, coasters, and other items and thinking about how I could use it in my scrapbooking and crafts.

You did a great job with it! Smiley

How awesome!

For those of you who don't want to turn to a crafty life of crime, restaurants usually switch out their menus now and then.  I think the old ones just get thrown away, so if you have a friend who works there you could ask them to nab one for you!

Your pages are just beautiful, but for those of us unwilling to take them, we could swipe the idea! Just cut down several tabbed folders to size and do the same thing. For the holder, well, we're all creative souls, we could figure it out!

Warmly,

Lynn

Love this idea! If you don't want to steal, you can always buy these at a restaurant supply site.

That is a REALLY cool transformation! Hmmm....I might have to re-evaluate the flip menu the next time I'm out...

I have a friend that takes menus and she decorates one of her rooms with them. She has them attached to the ceiling. It's actually a pretty neat little decorating tip.

This book is beautiful.  I am so inspired.  I'm a vegetarian, but today, we'll make an exception for a Denny's trip.  Wink  Or whatever restaurant gets in my way..  HA HA!  PS- I have no qualms taking a plastic menu from a murderous chain of lifeless restaurateur's.  PPS- I'm just going to say, have a margarita at a TGIF.  Wink  *CoughFantasticCandlesCough*

i gotta say , this is awesom.  it just set off the big bang of scrapbooking in my head.   i want to make one of these with my sons pictures on it for my mom, my MIL, i want to make one for my SIL with her girls pictures on it, i want to make them for my wedding to put on all that tables, with pictures of me and my man !   but i think i could be charged with something if i attempted to steal that many menue things from resturants.  or become known as that chick who steals , at every resturant

i love your creativity. im so jelous.

in all my excitement i forgot to ask.... what did you use to adhear the background paper to the menue pages.
