Does anyone else have a Mom that loves getting handmade gifts, but refuses to use them saying they are too nice or too special. Well I made up this set for her for this mother's day. She uses those icky plastic bath scrubby things so I made up this pattern all on my own. These are pretty (If I do say so myself Roll Eyes flowers, a tiger lily, a peony, a carnation, and a cabbage rose.  I designed them so they would look pretty in a basket in her washroom. I used simple crochet and 100% crochet cotton yarn.

That cracked me up! My sister and I have been knitting dishcloths for my mom, and she was telling us how when she was little, she would make stuff for her mom and her mom wouldn't use it. She actually ended up getting lots of it back from her mom years later. Moral of the story- She uses EVERYTHING we make her now. Doesn't want us to feel unappreciated!

Thanks for the compliments!  I made myself a rose one and I am going to use it later on!  I love the feel of cotton crocheted washcloths vs store bought ones or those plastic scrubbies!

Those are really pretty.  Yeah my mom does the same thing.  She said she needed some potholders and so I made some and she doesn't use it, I do but she doesn't.  :p

These are stunning. They are going to make her washroom look so pretty, even when they're not in use. The way you made the blue one twist slightly at the edges is great; it looks just like a clematis plant that grows in my neighbours' garden.

And you can throw these in the wash when they get grubby. Where as those plastic scrubbies get moldy and nasty and have to be thrown away. Not to mention yours are just way more attractive. Smiley
