I finally finished this a few days ago. I wanted to post sooner, but the sun just hasn't been cooperating well; however, these photos turned out okay, even if the color is a bit off on one of them. I doubt any photo would do it justice. It's the Bed of Roses Blanket from the August '06 issue of Crochet Today magazine. I started it sometime in February. It took me longer than any project I've done so far, although I have a project in the works that may come in a close second. I love the color, the texture, and the fact that I made it. And I made it just for me!

You can find more information about it on my my blog. I'm quite pleased with it.

How cute is that!  I don't like pink but that pattern is lovely.

I love how that turned out.  I've been staring at that pattern every since I got that issue but have been too afraid to try it.

Thanks, ScatterKincaid!

Thanks, Stars Fire. The pattern in the book was done in yellow, which is really pretty, too, but I've grown to like pink these days for some reason. Smiley

athenaknits, give it a try. It took me a couple of tries to get the pattern right, but after about the tenth square, I pretty much had the pattern memorized, and started making them in half the time. It was a bugger sewing the panels together, but I learned if I let the weight of the thing sit on a table, it wasn't so bad. The ending result is very pretty...at least I think so. Smiley

I love it! I was just looking though that magazine and was imagining it in pink. I can't believe you made it in only two months! That thing would take me a year... I have crochet ADD and would have moved on halfway though it Embarrassed

Great job, especially making it just for yourself!:)

That is really pretty I like the design of the squares. Do you know if I could get back issues of Crochet Today magazine? I only have the feb/mar '07 issue and I love this book.

ArrghMatey - Thanks! I actually did put it down for a short period. I got tired of making squares...lol. But once I had the pattern nearly memorized, I didn't mind it as much. Then once I got past 20, then 30, then 40 squares, my excitement grew. I'd never sewn squares together before, but it worked out well.

Thanks, Aelita. As for getting back issues, you can order them from their web site if you want to pay the crazy postage. I ordered this first issue because I had missed it when the magazine made its debut. You might find people who have extras that would trade with you. Are you a member of Crochetville? They have a trading/selling/freebie section that you can access after being there for 60 days and have 40 posts. I've noticed a couple of issues there.
