Swap name: Yarn swap for Rapunzel Scarf - Round 3
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: jezebel_1982
Sign-up date range: 14 Apr 2007 - 28 Apr 2007 OR AS SOON AS ALL SPOTS ARE FILLED

Date to send items by: May 8th, 2007

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): YES, 25 people.

Restricted to people who all live in the same country? NO

All ages allowed? Yes

Swap Organizer herself meets these conditions:
 - Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
 - Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
 - Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: YES
 - Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: NO. I am limiting to 25 participants.

HOW IT WORKS:

The idea is to swap different bits of yarn (and ribbon and strips of fabric) out of your stash around to multiple people, and in the end we will all have enough to make Rapunzel scarves.

Here is a link to the famous Rapunzel Scarf:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=72581.0

The basic scarf is made from 30 pieces of ten foot yarn. (ribbons, strips of fabric, etc.)

To participate in this swap, you will need to send 6 pieces of ten-foot lengths of yarn (etc) to five partners. (Total = 30 pieces).

Remember to include your craftster user name in your swap package so that your partner knows who it's from.

Depending on the number of people who sign up, this number may need to be tweaked a bit, so please remain flexible on the matter. You may need to send a little more or less to make everything fair and even.

Depending on the number of participants, we may get to express a few preferences. (I will try to match up people with preferences, but it may not be possible)

This swap is a little different from other swaps in that you will be shipping to multiple partners. The good news is that your yarn (etc.) can fit in an envelope and will weight very little.

Because of multiple shipping addresses you will not need to get DC numbers. Note this is different from other swaps. However, a receipt from the post office is required. This will be the only way you can prove you shipped if anything goes wrong with the mail. If you cannot produce a scan or copy of this receipt if your package goes missing, you will get negative feedback.

If you want to participate, PM this questionnaire to the organizer:

 QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
 Name of swap
 Craftster username
 Email address
 Your real name
 Mailing address including the country
Would you be willing to ship to an address outside your own country? (Please, please, please be willing to do this we are using envelopes and the weight is very light)

What can you send?
handspun: yes/no
novelty/exotic yarn: yes/no
other yarn: yes/no
ribbon: yes/no
fabric:yes/no

What would you prefer to receive?
handspun: yes/no
novelty/exotic yarn: yes/no
other yarn: yes/no
ribbon: yes/no
fabric:yes/no

What colors/colours would you like to receive?

What colors would you prefer not to receive?

Would you rather have everything be the same color/colorway, or would you like a variety of different colors?

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO ORGANIZER VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.

Also remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.

The Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
 - Has been a member for at least one month
 - Has posted at least 15 times
 - Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time
 - Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps
 - Does not have any negative feedback

Thanks for the interest guys!

As it stands, we already have 7 people partaking in round 3 (including myself) Looks like spots might fill up quickly again Smiley

Just an FYI for anyone participating:
  • First: this is my first attempt at organizing, so please bear with me as I learn the ropes
  • Second: My boyfriend and I are moving to another city while this swap is in progress. Only one city away, but we all know what moving is like...I'll do my best to stay on top of things, just wanted to give everyone the heads up that I'm a little scatterbrained at the moment lol

I just found this awesome scarf on the knitting board. It would be a good way to use up the scraps of yarn which are not long enough for a Rapunzel scarf!
