Fiber Friday April 13th

I can't believe I'm opening Fiber Friday this week!

Here's my skein. I named it "Happy" because it seems happy to me 



It's 2 ply. Merino (multicolor) plied with unknown wool from a sheep.

Oh, I wish I had something to add this week, but I've been traveling and haven't done much spinning.  I look forward to the rest of the fibery goodness, though!

This is some fibery goodness from spunky eclectic.  So far I just have this much spun:



the colorway is called dandelion.  I might just try to navajo ply this.   Boy after having the wheel for a while, spindle spinning just seems so sloooow.  At least I can do it while I'm outside watching the kids.  The neighbors think I'm crazy--all but the knitters and crochet-ers of course.  They are the ones who ask to touch!

Isanou- Wow, your yarn is really cool...but that's so weird, I spun up my first 2 ply this week and it has alot of your same colors, then it is plyed with random wool I got from my friends sheep >_< cool lol.

Betzi- That is soooo pretty I love it, Spunky Fiber rocks XD!!! I dunno but photobucket does that to me too :-?

Here is my contribution. Still all done on my spindle no wheel yet, but I do have 170 saved up so far

I don't know what to call it, but this is the one that I think looks similar to Isanou's "Happy" this week...maby "Happies Twin" lol. It's my first ply, it's 2 ply and about 80 yards or so.



I've been dying alot lately(O_O odd saying that..lol) and here is some of the raw fiber I got from my friend, I was just test dying batches.

and here is my first time spinning from my own Rolags...I think I need to practice making them lol, I keep getting tons of little slubby places even when I predraft like crazy but Oh well I like it for now
(I assume since it is spun from rolags and is really fluffy it's considered a Woolen Yarn?)

I've been ready Fiber Friday for some time now, this is my first time jumping in though!  Everyone's stuff is always so awesome.

theboythatspins - great job on your first plying! Better than mine for sure.  And I love the purple you dyed!

betzi - your's is gorgeous and I can not get singles that thin and even!

He's my little second plying attempt ever.



The run down-
Bright blue corriedale wool from The Flying Ewe and spun on my Viking Santa spindle. It was plied with a shiny bright green thread (that doesn't photograph well) on my Greensleeves Barebones. This skein ended up around 70 yards.

The boy that spins, I really like your "happies twin"  The colors are really similar to mine, that's funny!

Pieknits, this is a wonderful color, so deep! I would love to swim in that color!
