I made this awesome box on a workshop, I'm sooo happy with it! It was really light wood, but I used distress ink to make it dark! I'm totally in love with it. Kiss Tongue

and surprise... there's a little book inside!

I love it, so pretty!  What are the dimensions of the box?
« Reply #3 on: April 16, 2007 12:12:23 AM »

It's small, 14,5 cm long, 7,5 cm high and 8,5 cm broad (correct word?), I don't know the dimensions in inches, sorry!
Originally it was a box to store tea in!

thanks for your comments!

It was a small tea-box with light wood.
I used Distress ink in the color walnut stain to colour the light wood.
Then I chose three matching papers, measured the box and cut the paper in the right side, leaving a little wood to be seen.
I used double sided tape to stick the paper to the box. To let it go smoothly into the color of the wood, I used some more distress ink to color the sides of the paper slightly, so you can't see the white edges of the paper anymore.

For the little book you need card stock, ribbon and some paper. Measure the inside of the box and cut the card stock in the right size. Then cut the paper, a little bigger than the card stock. Use double sided tissue tape to stick the paper to the card stock, fold the edges and use some more tape to stick it down. Stick a card stock paper to the back of it so you don't see the folding. Punch two holes on the left side of each paper and use ribbons to tie it all together.

Hope that helps! I don't know if I explained it well? English is not my first language, so if anything is unclear, just ask and I'll try to explain it better.
