Crocheted Cottage bag

I know this is technically a crochet post but I thought it might get better response here than on the crochet board. It is a bag not a box sooo...
My SIL's birthday is today and my MIL is visiting her next week. I decided to make her something. I was going to knit but I only had two weeks and my knitting skills are not so fast yet. So I crocheted her a scarf. I didn't like ti very much and decided to make her a bag or something instead. And when I found the free pattern from Lilly's SugarnCream yarns I was hooked! (laughs at corny joke) So Here it is:



I really like it and I hope SIL likes it as much as I do. I am thinking of makeing them in primary colors for baby showers and stuff.

Its funny actually, they are selling boxes that are exactly that at Ikea.  I didnt realize they were crocheted before I saw your bag.

Making one is totally cooler than buying one at Ikea!

And it's mindlessly easy. I'm just pleased with mine becasue it's the most time I've spent on something to make it look nice.

I love crocheted anything, so of course I love your bag!  Your SIL just has to love this.  I went to your blog and read your entry there.  Since your SIL is a knitter already, she should appreciate your handmade gift.  It seems like those of us who knit and/or crochet and/or sew really do appreciate the efforts of other crafters.  It looks like you did a great job with the lining too.  Nice work!

Aw thanks. That's what it seems like doesn't it. My MIL picked it up to take to her and said SIL is going to love it.
