I thought about entering, but now that it's already time to post, and I haven't made anything, I think I'll just watch from the sidelines.

I thought about entering too but just ran out of time. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with though. Smiley

Yeah, me too.  It's funny because one of the ideas I had was to do a fondue set, and someone did that.  Smiley

Please excuse my tardiness!  I just wanted to publicly say how much I enjoyed receiving those olives from flanman  Grin  I didn't even say what my fave foods are, but olives ARE definitely one of my faves, and something I would never thought of to make stuffies.

You can't tell so much from the photo, but they are very cleverly made.  One thing I found, when I started to work on this swap, was that I have no idea how to make things in 3-D, never having made stuffies before.  So, I could not even have conceived how to make a thing that  actually has a "pocket" like that, where the pit and the pimiento go.  When I saw that I could pull that pit out and it had its own little face, I'm pretty sure I made a goofy noise  Wink

Thank you again!

Melinda

xmelinda- I can totally relate to this problem.  I must have patterns when working in 3-d.  I just can't see how to really do it on my own.  I've done all 3 rounds of this swap and it's helped to stretch my skills.

I'd like to think we inspired the felt challenge entries.  4 out of 8 entries so far are foods  Smiley http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?board=332.0

I was thinking the same thing.  =)  I was expecting there to be a lot of food items in there, and was wondering if anyone was planning to enter their swap items...or is that considered cheating?

Anyway, I agree, working in 3-D definitely takes practice.  Once you've done a couple of items, using patterns (if you're like me) you start to get a feel for how things work and how to use handy things like gussets.

That being said, I am really fond of the 2-D mascot style stuffies as well.
