I think that Golden D'or on Harry Hines might be something like that?  I haven't been there (always plan to but never get around to it) but their website gives the impression that it might be like that and I have seen some items on here made from incredible fabric found at that store.  This is the website http://www.goldendor.com/

There are some really huge fabric stores on Midway in Addison, Fabric by the yard and I can't think of the other name.  They have a ton of fabric and you can get sample swatches Wink

RUN, don't walk to Golden D'or! The place is amazing, people are helpful and my god, SO MUCH FABRIC, and CHEAP! Also, right down the street is Best Fabrics but they have mostly decorator fabric. Still worth a look though, I've found some great stuff at both places.

PS--It's BETTER than Mood! Tongue I think between the 2 stores(warehouses, really) it's something like 50,000 sq ft of fabric?! Plan to spend at least a couple of hours looking.

Yeah I fourth and fifth Golden D'or.  If you get on their email list they will let you know about sales and what not... and their clearance room rules!!!

I was looking for fabric shops and it's hard to tell which ones are just for upholstery.  Is Golden D'Or for apparel as well?

I found this website listing different places in the area, maybe it will be helpful to some.

Gold D'or has everything, but it is mostly apparel.
