Try a blue black, it will cover everything and have a small hint of blue as well as covering the red. You can even try to leave a piece of your existing color in while coloring the rest of your hair. Just to throw in something different if you want more dimension...

LOL OK I must not have read this right, but if you dont like the red just use an ash brown to neutralize the red. All colors opposite of the color wheel neutralize each other (cancel out). So use an ash to get rid of red. Smiley

Does anyone have any idea what I can do about my poor hair?
A month ago I got it highlighted at the hairdressers. It was black and it went brown with goldy bits. It was nice and everyone said it suited me, but I didn't like it.
I coped with it for a month though, and a few days ago I box-dyed it a colour that I thought was brown with a reddish tint, but it actually came out dark red with light red bits (I assume where the lightest blonde was before).
It's bearable, but it's just not me. I was thinking about putting a semi-permanent box of light/medium brown on it, does anyone think that'll work? My natural colour is a dark/medium brown and I really don't want it to go black again.

Hmmm I'm not sure if I'm reading this right but putting a semi-permanent light/medium brown on it won't do much except dull the red tones some, if you want your hair lighter you'll have to bleach and then dye or use a higher developer, but THAT can get kind of tricky.

Well I figured that if I bleached it now it would probably go orange.
A girl at my college put dark brown over her red hair and it went brown with a red tint, so I might try that.
I'm getting my hair all chopped off tomorrow though Smiley!

so i have pretty fine (though fairly thick) hair that is right now pretty short.

my problem is, it's tends to be quite pooofy and always wants to curl in at the sides, making my already round face seem like....i dont know. something very circular. It's also really hard to get it to be textured/choppy looking, even when i cut it choppy. Any suggestions in the way of styling product/miraculous wonders?

Look at me, I'm on TV, it makes up for the shortcomings of being poor. Now I'm in a million pieces picked up for deliberation by the people listening at home, by the people watching on the telly...

yarncookie- get your stylist to use a razor and cut out layers from the middle layers of your hair. Essentially thin your hair in the places that are too puffy.  My hair is also fine but lots of it, and I find it does the same thing when it's short. I think defined bangs might also make the roundness a bit less, like so they don't sweep so much into the hair over your ears. As for product- Aveda has a pomade called Control Paste. It's a bit pricey, but it works wonders (choppy without being gross), it lasts a long time and it smells amazing.

Hi there! So have you ever tried to straighten the areas that stick out with a ceramic straightening iron? I use some Sleek Looks by Redken (I think that is who it is by). I spray each section of hair and then iron it. It works great and stay VERY straight all day. Or if you wanna wear it kinda funky lookin I would Blow dry it with yer head upside down. We are going for a messy look here. So for product I would use Frenzy by Short Sexy Hair. It's kinda like a wax typr substance.

What type of hair do you have? Oily/Dry. If it is oily do not use the Frenzy. You will not like it!

My Mom is a hair dresser. Let me know what you try and if it worked. If not I can consult her (my Mom).

This is the blonde-ish: [img]http://c3.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/40/m_7ff21dec0e4842b0ac90797a8893cdbe.jpg

This is the red: [img]http://c2.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/59/l_db31bbda00e04a88abf2e19d05672171.jpg
I know they're not the best photos...

Aw I think the red is really pretty...but it's easy to get sick of red too!  Post new pics please when you end up deciding on something!   Grin

I'm not entirely sure anyone will be able to help me, but I am so bored with my haircut right now...

that's like a week and a half old, so pretty recent. Anyways, any ideas for cute short curly hairstyles? It used to be REALLY curly and now I've been moussing and blowdrying it for extra volume and it's been more wavy than curly lately, but I don't know if my hair is changing or it's the way I style it. I dunno, I find this hairstyle kind of boring but I can finally have big poofy hair haha. I've been half thinking about doing something like this or this:

but a. I'm worried about my hair going for-reals curly again when I cut it, and b. I'm afraid I might regret it and c. it is FREAKIN' cold outside.

Any ideas? Input? Anything?

ps - I know I'm the only person ever who would post about having boring hair when it's blue, haha. I love this color but the cut is BORING.
