I know its a small picture but like uma in this

scroll down.. You don't want to go too light because you have to remember eyebrows.. and that can make it look harsh.  I'm  a person who has run a course of black to blond and I am naturally red-brown.  I have been shunned by many hairdressers and any hairdresser is going to tell you to stay in your "color family"  I think Auburn is a nice for you because you haven't strayed outside of brown and you could easily go back if you hated it.. you do something like blond or too many streaks and you are stuck for a long time unless yo cut your hair off.. which I have done many many times.

BTW.. I like your hair color now.  You got that girl next door thing

I just want to pop in here to point out that I have blonde-brown hair with dark brown-black eyebrows.  I mean, without bleaching my hair, of course XD So don't be too quick to dismiss it as a completely unnatural thing.  (not that I advocate going blonde from a darkish brown... ew, fried hair?)

I like penguins, stars, rainbows and blue.
If your project has any of these, don't be surprised to see me post in it! Cheesy

Yeah, I have the blonde hair/dark brows going on too. My hair is medium blonde now (and just seems to be getting darker) but when I was younger my hair was super light and I still had dark brows. I used to really hate them. A lot of people don't believe that the blonde is natural...I've even bleached my eyebrows before, but they just turned out orangutan orange.

I have orangish-blond streaks in my hair right now and I'm looking to dye them purple.  The only problem is, I'm afraid that they will turn out some freaky color.  I don't want to buy more bleach and strip the orange totally out because well I'm kind of poor and I already have the purple dye.  And my usual strand-test-nazi approach is useless because I don't have enough of the light color in my hair to get a good enough chunk.

So... any purple-haired lads or lassies care to help?

So, I have dark brown hair, closer to balckish, but still, not that black, just dark brown. I want to put highlights in my hair, but I don't want too flashy of a color, because:
A: My mom will be super mad
   B. The school has these crazy dress codes, and will not allow crazy hair colors, thoguh, they really don't want any hair coloring to begin with, but you can kind of get away with it. Anyways, who the heck cares, I'm graduating...woohoo!

So, I have tried lowlights, but they didn't show up in my hair at all. And then I tried highlights, but it came out too orangy-blondish.
I want highlights that are still in the brown family, or more in the reddish, but the highlights should not be colors that you can see miles and miles away. Just a shade slightly lighter than my hair. of course i still want to see them, though not too much! Here's a picture of my hair. I hope you can see it:

If you hair is just like mine, please post. And if you have used a good shade, that describes what I want, please show it to me and let me know the brand and all the details. Thanks!

Your hair is like mine but mine is curly.  Cheesy

I got my done at a salon and they used a color called carmel they also had one that was a bit darker and it was called camel. I think it turned out really cute. I am going to get it done again because it has since grown out. I do not have any pics. But it turned out really good. i would suggest you go to a salon only because with my hair I do know that sometimes using things from the store will turn it more reddish. Good luck!

Unfortunately my dear, I have hair very similar to yours and I cannot for the life of me find an at-home product that will get me highlights that don't look completely unnatural. The best results I ever got was with a hairdresser. Everything else I've tried turned out really blond or really orangey.
