Over the past year and a half my hair has changed quite a bit!

It started, dyed black (i just love black hair) and being down to my hips, with a fringe (bangs) and two chopped shorter bits at the front. Sadly i don't have any pictures of this.

Then i thought enough was enough, all that hair just took TOO long to style and dry etc and so it always ended up being tied up, and so was kind of pointless in having long hair!

I then went to this:

Which i loved at the time, but got bored of it so decided i wanted something new.

Moved to this:

Asymmetrical and short at the back, I loved it! <3 Esp getting rid of the fringe!

Went on to get this one slightly shorter:

So that is the style i've kept.  Had wanted to dye it with some other colour to add to the black for years, but with it being so long i didn't want to ruin it with bleach.  But now it was short it was fair game.   I decided to try red, well partly red, couldn't give up the black completely!  The top is red with the back and other side still black.  Depending where i part it i can have one half red, one half black

After a colour removal and slight bleach, just using permanent red dye from a box.  I liked it, but it wasn't the red i was after (the photo is pre cut to remove some of the browner looking ends and so that you could see the black underneath.

So i decided to try one of those colours that says it can add vibrant colour to dark and light hair without pre-lightening.  It gave a pinky red that i love.  It does tend to fade quite a bit but fades to pinky instead of orange, so that is fine by me Cheesy  I dye it now every 4 weeks to keep a decent colour Cheesy I love it.
(Sorry about these photos, i just felt pretty in them and were on the only ones i have with this hair colour and i was trying to take pics of my makeup and the mini top hat i made)

Thanks for looking!  Sorry for all the photos, only a few were taken with the sole purpose of showing off my hair, so i hope you get the point.

Here are the many mainly vintage style hairstyles i have had...

i once had pillarbox red hair!

now it is platinum blonde but in very bad condition so i usually rely on hairpieces and backcombing. I am reluctant to change the colour now as i am more well known on the burlesque circuit and don't want people forgetting who i am!

i love doing crazy things with my hair...

I already have a pic as my avatar BUT I just had to share. I went from a dark dark brown, to a violet pink this past weekend! I did not do the hair cut myself, but the bleaching and color was all done in my bathroom lol
I used beyond the zone bleaching kit, followed by L'oreal Feria extra bleach blonde, THEN Jerome Russel Punky Colour in Rose Red
This picture is after one wash.

The picture in my avatar was immediately after the punky colour.

Roll Eyes  Ummm...your parents will probably kill me if they read this, but here goes...I'm a 37 year old mom of three (one is a 16 year old boy) and whatever he wants to do to his hair I AM FINE WITH!!!!  I read a story once somewhere where this dad hassles his son about his hair all the time-even though the son was a great student, good person, etc...  One day, while the dad was at a basketball game that his son was playing in, the son dies (apparently he had an undiagnosed heart problem).  The dad then, too late, realizes that IT'S ONLY HAIR!  That story hit home with me and it is the truth.  If my kid is a good person, and the only thing he does "wrong" is chooses to do nutty things with his hair, then I'm a lucky mom.

BTW...I am also a preschool teacher, and I dye my hair all the time.  I'm going light blonde tonight (from a reddish color that keeps on happening b/c I'm letting my husband-yeah, my husband-dye my hair).  I also cut my hair different ways all the time.  It's just a mode of expression, and I think your parents need to chill.

I agree with you.  Its just hair.  If its cut, it will grow out.  If its dyed it will wash and/or grow out.  Its hair and the way one cuts/dyes it is just a way to express ones self.

Want to learn to crochet or knit?  I have a ton of extra crochet hooks & circular knitting needles.  Will throw in some pattern books and yarn for anyone interested in a swap.

recently broke up with my deadbeat, violent, possessive ex-fiance and decided it was time for a change, so I did my hair.
put too much blue in the toner for my bangs and they turned blue. I actually like it, too bad work will prolly have a cow. thankfully it'll fade pretty fast. but for now it looks awesome!
