I put a couple neon green fusion extensions (at 3 dollars a PIECE, oh my god) in at work today. Needless to say, we were bored.

Edits: The extensions are human hair, and are more or less hot glue gunned to my own hair. They dont come out without a fight.

If you guys are interested in learning how to DIY fusions (on someone else, obviously not yourself) I can type up a text tute.

i love the green and pink!! i wish my henna-fied hair would allow me to dye it pretty colors. it's grown out maybe an inch since I last henna'd it and even the roots won't hold dye (manic panic red passion)

how do you do the fusions?

Step one: Justify buying fusion extensions. Mine were 3 dollars, for each little strand of fusion extension, which looks like:

http://img.alibaba.com/photo/50501015/Remi_Fusion_Hair_Extensions.jpg

I actually grabbed a pack of 200 and went up the register to find out the pack was 90 DOLLARS. Dumb. I bet you can get them cheap on eBay.

Step two: Place them. Get a bobby pin and thread the extension on. Play with the placement on your head until it peeks through just right.

Step three: Section your hair off. Make sure you dont have any strands you dont want hanging around. Use clips. Lots of them.

Step four: Using the end of a rattail comb, section off a 1/4" square of hair. Pull it down so its how your hair naturally fall.

Step five: Place the fusion on top of your tiny section.

Step six: Clamp down with a flatiron for about 5 seconds. Try to find one of those skinny 1" or 1/2" irons.

Step seven: Pinch the extension + section of your own hair together between thumb and forefinger. The fusion tip should be melty. Roll it between thumb and forefinger until fusion has set.

It'll look similiar to this:
