9thlife, wow! Love the haircut. It looks so great from the side, and the front frames your face well.

I will happily do personal swaps for beads, buttons, and fat quarters!

9thLife thank you so much for what you said about my shrine...it was a tough thing to make as the whole issue of how women feel about themselves is such an important and conflicted thing.

So, a couple of months ago, I henna'd my hair. Partly encouraged by craftster, mostly because I wanted to, I then cut my hair short--

then I cut it shorter--

which means I can now do this:

Which means I spend a lot of time going around feeling hella AWESOME.

I think the henna suddenly become more visible on the shorter hair--perhaps it catches the light differently? Though I couldn't get it to photograph, there's still some red left, mostly in front. More people notice the color change now then ever... and of course I am loving how the fauxhawk makes me look taller. Hah! I tried the gelatin thing some people on here advocated, but at this length I found that cheapo gel works just fine for the messy thing I'm doing. Less crafty, but so easy. I can trim the front and sides of this just fine, but I worry about the back. Hmmm. I plan on re-hennaing half  my half, to see if I can get it to work properly this time.

That is the best way to walk around when your hair looks that bad ass.  Uber sexy-I love it!

Here are a few pictures of my hair over time and what it looks like now.

When I was 19 I gave myself a buzz cut and then started growing it in, this is what it looked like after like 6 months.

A few months later and redish brown haircolor, I liked it like this.

Same color and length as the last pic but curly(my hair is naturally curly but I flat iron it.

I grew it several inches longer and died it black ontop and redish brown underneath and had really long layers but then of course I started getting bored with it and decided to cut it and this is what I ended up with(pic below)

Me with bangs(and my sister) I hated my hair like this.

Here it is now super short and I love it. Cheesy
