Here's some of the stuff I've made recently! I can't post pictures at this point because I haven't made 10 posts yet. Sad Sorry. But you can always click the link Smiley

1-5 are my first resin experiments. 1 is just words from a magazine, and I put it in a bottle cap, and the rest are plants that I picked up, washed off, and stuck in there. I don't know if they'll be well preserved in there or if they will eventually turn brown or what. I think they look pretty cool for now, though!

6 are my version of the pill earrings. I think I might have to disassemble them and coat the pills with something, though. I didn't really think of that when I put them together.

7 are just very simple crystal earrings.

8 is a bottle cap pendant.

9 is a pendant I made out of computer parts. I still have to put a jump ring on it, though.

Hope you all like them!

Thanks Smiley

Yeah, I'm not really sure how I'm going to finish the other resin things with plants in them. I was expecting the resin to dry harder than it has, and I was just going to drill holes in them and add a jump ring to make them pendants. Now I'm thinking I'm going to have to do something else to keep them from bending/stretching/sticking/breaking.

sometimes a hot (really strong) needle works for me. you just hold it over a candle and do it that way.

im curious about something... everytime ive seen the resin in a bottlecap its rounded... almost like a dome kind of. did you make the resin in another mold and then put it in the bottlecap once it cured?

Use one of those plastic paint pallets to get a dome shape.

Yup, that's exactly what I did, I bought a cheap plastic paint palette. It was a little hard to get them out, though. The edges of mine are a little messed up as a result of my efforts to pry them out of the thing. However, if you are putting them in a bottle cap, chances are you will have to trim the edges off anyway.
